Introduction

The NVIDIA/Mellanox MMS4A00-compatible OSFP optical module is an InfiniBand 1.6T 2x 800Gb/s dual-port OSFP optical module featuring 2xDR4/DR8 single-mode design based on silicon photonics technology. It utilizes a parallel 8-channel architecture and is equipped with two 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connectors, each supporting a transmission rate of 800Gb/s. The parallel single-mode short-reach 8-channel (2xDR4/DR8) configuration employs 200G-PAM4 modulation technology, achieving a maximum fiber transmission distance of up to 500 meters over 8 single-mode fibers. This product complies with system requirements for InfiniBand XDR end-to-end systems.

The version with an integrated heat sink top cover (OSFP-IHS) is suitable for Quantum-X800 air-cooled and liquid-cooled switches. It represents an ideal solution for the supercomputing and high-performance computing (HPC) industry, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructures to ensure efficient high-performance interconnectivity. Primary applications include connections between two switches (up to 500 meters) or linking two 800G links to network adapters for storage and compute server interconnections.
